The Dickensian Fayre was once again successful and as popular as ever. The weather was kind to us- cold but dry.
Our Dickensian Dollies sold mulled wine along with warmed cider, and Hot Chocolate. the Pickwick Porkers had hot dogs and homemade soup for sale.
The Ebor Brass Band played popular Christmas Carols and festive music throughout the evening. The smell of the roasting chestnuts and the old fashioned fairground rides added to the atmosphere
Many thanks to all that came and helped with the preparations before and after. And everyone that came and made it a success
The Christmas Tree competition was won by Riccall Football Club

We are now preparing for the Carnival, which will be on the 27th, 28th & 29th June..
Do you want to see something different at the Carnival weekend -or have you any ideas that could improve it? If you have any suggestions please let us know or pop along to one of our meetings at the Methodist Chapel – 1st Tuesday of the month, or contact one of the committee members.
The Carnival and Dickensian Fayre are organized and run entirely by volunteers. More are always welcome, especially at the setting up and taking down stage. All skills are needed, from financial expertise to making the tea for the work parties. Putting up bunting requires a certain amount of skill up a ladder, but someone has to untangle it and pass it up! If we work together as a community we can fund events in Riccall and enjoy a friendly, fun atmosphere at the Carnival and Dickensian Fayre.
You do not have to be a resident of Riccall to offer your help. If you want to be more involved, please contact us. We would particularly like to have some new faces on the Committee which meets on the first Tuesday evening of every month at Riccall Methodist Chapel at 7.30pm. Ideas for the Carnival and Dickensian Fayre are always welcome so just come along or contact us with yours.
