Come & Join the fun on December 6th – Riccall Village Green from 4pm till 7pm. Why not get in to the spirit and come in period costume. Festive stalls, hot roasted chestnuts, Mulled Wine, minced pies. Old fashioned fair ground rides. Ebor Brass Band will be providing the festive music. Christmas tree competition in the Church. 14 year old school boy Paul Rodwell is finishing school on Tuesday 22nd July and making the journey with his Dad (Steve) to Lands End. Wednesday morning they are starting the 1000 mile bike ride to John O’Groat’s. Following in his brother Danny’s footsteps who did the challenge 5 years ago cycling from John O’Groats and finishing at Lands End. Paul and Steve hope to complete the ride in 10 day’s raising money for “Men United” a Prostrate Cancer Charity. They hope to complete the ride in 10 day’s we in Riccall are all behind you!!

July 22nd arrived at Lands End
Day 1 have completed 70 miles
Day 2 crossed the border into Devon
Day 3 camping at the bottom of Cheddar Gorge another 80 miles completed
Day 4 made it to Northleach in Gloustershire
Day 5 into Ollerton
Day 6 back home to rest made it to Yorkshire
Day 7 easy travel through Yorkshire but there are some good hills around Durham staying overnight in Bishop Auckland.
Day 8 reached Jeburgh approx 700 miles done – 320 to go. Flashed by a speed sign to slow down. Weather windy
Day 9 reached Auchterarder (not far from Gleneagles)
Day 10 arrived in Newtonmore only 162 miles to go can smell the finishing line
Day 11 arrived at the small town of Tain – it’s the final countdown 82 miles then Paul and Steve have finished
Day 12 Mission accomplished now the long journey back home to Riccall for a well earned rest, that’s for Paul – poor old DAD has work to do.
